Type:

Classical Painting

Year:

(1872-1944)

Piet Mondrian was a Dutch painter, considered one of the greatest painters of the 20th century.

Mondrian, one of the founders of the Dutch modern movement De Stijl, radically simplified his painting elements to reflect the spiritual order he saw hidden in the world, creating in his canvas - a clear, universal language of aesthetic.
In the most famous paintings of the 1920s, Mondrian simplified its shapes into lines and rectangles, and restored his palette to basic principles, thereby pushing past references to the outside world to pure abstraction.
